Area Monitoring

This system consists of one or several trucks and a central station. The trucks measure permanently the ambient dose rate. A GPS system is used to determine the truck position. This information is stored in a data base inside the truck.

A NaI acquisition chain, consisting of the InterWinner and a Venus analyzer is integrated into the system. The results of the analysis are stored in the data base together with the location where the sample was taken.

In addition to this, other data (point gamma, alpha beta activity, etc.) can be stored manually in the data base.

All this information is transferred using a wireless network to the central computer and can be shown in a map. The dose rate measurements will be color coded according to user defined threshold (normal, high, danger).

This system is currently installed in all nineteen French nuclear power plants.
